Dr. Staten believes every patient is unique, so every treatment plan must be unique as well. One-size-fits-all dentistry has no place at Desert Hills Dental. Instead, she bases every treatment and procedure recommendation on a number of highly personalized factors.
Dr. Fatima Nepacena, DMD
DMD
Dr. Nepacena was born and raised in San Jose, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of San Francisco and her DMD at UNLV School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Janika Ross, DMD
Dr. Ross is a dedicated dentist hailing who combines clinical excellence with a personalized approach to dental care. With a Doctorate from UNLV School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Ross prioritizes building trust through effective communication and tailored treatments, ensuring every patient leaves with a brighter, healthier smile.

Hi! I'm Teresa and I've been working front office in the dental field for 19 years. I love the relationships we develop with our patients. Helping patients improve their dental health and smile is so rewarding! I moved here in 2018 from Sonoma County with my husband Joel. I love the weather and endless supply of activities in Las Vegas but sure do miss the wineries! We have four grown kids between us, two grandsons and a granddaughter on the way! We love camping in our travel trailer and exploring new areas. It's always an adventure!

Hi, I’m Amy! I have been a resident of Las Vegas for over 20+ years and even though I am originally from Southern California, this is “Home” to me. I have been in the dental field since 2008 and have been working for Desert Hills Dental since 2014. I enjoy working at Desert Hills Dental because of the response that patients have coming to our office. Going to the dentist is already a scary thing for people, but our patients, leave feeling like they just came from visiting, friends/family. Or they feel like they have just met a new group of friends and have changed their vision of going to the dentist. I work very hard at making sure everything runs smoothly at Desert Hills Dental and I am always ready to give a helping hand. I love seeing our patients leave our office with big smiles and hearing about their amazing experiences. When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my long-time boyfriend and children. I love to shop! Especially for shoes and purses. I also love trying new places to eat (especially seafood) and going to concerts. =)

Marleny was born and raised in West Covina, California. She has been a hygienist since 2008. She relocated to Las Vegas with her family in 2011 and has been working at Desert Hills Dental for the past 9 years. Marleny is married and has 3 children. In her free time, she enjoys doing DIY projects, woodworking, or anything crafty.

Hello, my name is Angelica. I am from Colombia, and I have been in the USA since 2018. Si, si hablo español and English. My husband and I just moved to Las Vegas from West Texas. I started my dental career as a dental assistant. While working as an RDA, I took online classes to apply for dental hygiene school. I decided to become a dental hygienist because I love this field! I love helping patients learn about oral health, and having the opportunity to show my patients that we care about them is a great feeling. Also, the happiness of seeing people more confident and coming back to their dental cleanings and taking care of their teeth is very rewarding. My dream is to work in dental public health and help those who are in need. I love spending time with my husband and pets. Food and margaritas are my–like many people don't like flossing, but it must be done!

I’ve been in the dental field for about 7 years now. Interacting with patients, easing anxiety, keeping them comfortable throughout the procedure, and seeing them smile is a rewarding feeling. In my leisure time, I enjoy traveling, shopping, reading, going on spontaneous adventures, spending time with friends and family, and checking out new places to eat or grab a drink. I’m married with no kids yet, just a 5-year-old fur baby named Byon.

Hello! My name is Michelle Yuro. I have been in dentistry for 46 years and LOVE my job! I enjoy giving our patients the best care possible and making the doctor's job as easy as possible. I have lived in Las Vegas since 1979 and have seen a lot of changes here and in dentistry. I am single and devote my spare time to crafting greeting cards, working in my vegetable garden and volunteering in the children's ministry at my church.

My name is Lisa and I'm from Utah. I've lived in Nevada since 2018 with my husband. I have 2 daughters, 1 stepson, all of whom are married, and 5 grandkids. Yes, I am a "granma".
I have been a dental assistant for 10 years and have loved it. The last 5 1/2 has been in an adult detention center, aka private prison. I have missed being able to connect with and have a personal rapport with my patients. Which is what brought me to Desert Hills Dental.
I love rainstorms. My favorite smells are rain and campfire. I love the mountains, anywhere green, really. Most of all, I love spending time with my littles, family, friends, and relaxing.

I’m Lesley, I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 25+ years. After high school I noticed that I had an interest in dental so decided to go to dental assisting school. I’ve been in the field for 13 years as a dental assistant. I’ve been with DHD for 5 years and love oral surgery and cosmetic cases. During my free time, I enjoy the outdoors and snowboarding with my boyfriend and friends. I have a fur baby named Marley. Besides the outdoors, you can catch me spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy working with a high-tech office where we can provide the newest and latest to our patients.

Hi! I am Shannon. I have been in the dental field since 2008, starting as an assistant. I absolutely LOVE the relationships I have forged with patients and teammates. I find this profession to be very fulfilling. I have been married to an Englishman (accent and all) for 18 years, and I have two grown sons who I want to be like when I grow up. :) In my off time, I am currently in three bands as a vocalist and bassist. Music is my oxygen, my Zen, my happy place. I love the bond I share with my bandmates. Fun fact: I am an avid football lover. I played in the WFA, a pro women’s football team (yes, real NFL rules…pads and all), and coached peewee football. I am a huge Longhorns and 49ers fan!

I am writing to give a fantastic review for Desert Hills Dental and specifically Dr. Staten. I would first like to say that I am a horrible patient. I struggle to follow doctor's orders if I don't like them. I get frustrated with longer-term things and give up. I have NEVER liked a dentist, office, hygienist, etc. in my entire life. I have been dealing with Perio issues for greater than 20 years and had given up on my mouth and was about to start down the road of implants. Then I met Dr. Staten. She changed everything. I went from bleeding gums, all day, every day, to a perfect smile.
I have you to thank for this. I cannot express my appreciation enough. Everyone is so caring and attentive. I need that extra care and you go the distance.
